Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Emirates Wills (emirateswills.ae) (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at hello@emirateswills.ae.

We are not a law firm. We provide an online service that collects your instructions and manages the preparation of your will. Legal drafting is carried out by our licensed UAE legal partner, and the Arabic translation by an MOJ-certified legal translator.

2. What the service includes

• An online questionnaire to record your wishes.
• A will drafted from your answers in the format accepted by the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) for non-Muslim and civil wills, reviewed by a person before it reaches you.
• Changes to your draft before you approve it.
• A certified Arabic translation, producing a bilingual will.
• Guidance on booking and completing ADJD registration.

3. What the service does not include

• Court fees. ADJD registration fees (currently AED 950 per will, or AED 1,900 for mirror wills) are set by the court, paid directly to the court, and are not part of our price.
• Tailored legal advice on complex matters such as trusts, business succession, disputes, tax, or assets and wills in other countries. We will tell you if your situation needs this, and it may be quoted separately.
• Registration itself. Registration is carried out by the ADJD. We cannot control its schedule, requirements or decisions.
• Assets outside the UAE. Your UAE will is intended for your UAE assets. You should take local advice for assets in other countries.

4. Who can use the service

You must be at least 21 years old and have the mental capacity to make a will. ADJD eligibility rules depend on your circumstances, including your faith and nationality. UAE and GCC nationals are generally not eligible. If we find that the ADJD route isn’t available to you, we will tell you before your draft is prepared and refund you in full.

5. Your responsibilities

• Give complete and accurate information, including full legal names exactly as they appear on passports.
• Read your draft carefully before approving it. Once you approve it, it goes to translation and registration in that form.
• Tell us about anything that could affect your will, such as a will in another country or a change in your family circumstances.
• Only give us other people’s details (for example guardians, executors and beneficiaries) where you are entitled to do so.

6. Price and payment

Our fee is AED 699 for a single will and AED 1,099 for mirror wills (two matching wills for a couple). The price is shown before you pay and is a fixed fee: there is no hourly billing. Payment is taken in UAE dirhams through our payment provider, Ziina. We do not see or store your full card details.

7. Timings

We aim to deliver your draft within 72 hours of receiving your completed questionnaire and documents. Translation and registration take longer, and registration depends on the ADJD’s appointment availability. Timings are estimates, not guarantees.

8. The Emirates Wills Guarantee: changes, cancellations and refunds

Our guarantee to you:

• Before drafting starts: you can cancel for a full refund.
• After your draft has been delivered: the fee is non-refundable, because the work has been done. You can ask for changes to your draft, at no extra cost, until you approve it.
• If we can’t provide the service (for example, if the ADJD route isn’t available to you), we refund our fee in full.
• If the ADJD rejects your will because of an error in our drafting or translation, we will correct it at no cost.
• Court fees are paid to the ADJD and are subject to the court’s own refund rules.
• Changes after registration require a new or amended will and a new registration, which is a new order.

9. Our responsibility to you

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by UAE law, our total liability to you for any claim connected with the service is limited to the fee you paid us. We are not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate or incomplete information you provide, by decisions or delays of the ADJD or other authorities, or by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Your information

We handle your personal information, and that of the people named in your will, as described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Our website

The content and design of this website belong to us. Your will belongs to you: once it is prepared, you may use it as you wish.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you paid.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Dubai. Any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai.
