Is a will made online legally valid in the UAE?
Yes, once it is registered. We prepare your will in the bilingual English and Arabic format the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) accepts. It becomes legally effective when you complete ADJD registration, which is done by video call with a court notary. ADJD-registered wills are recognised across all seven emirates.
I already have a will in my home country. Do I need another one?
Usually, yes. A will made abroad is not automatically applied to assets held in the UAE, and getting a foreign will recognised by a UAE court is slow and uncertain. Most expats keep their home-country will for assets there and a separate UAE will for assets here, drafted so the two don't contradict each other.
What happens if I die in the UAE without a will?
Your UAE assets, including bank accounts, can be frozen until a court decides who inherits. The court applies default inheritance rules, which may not match what you want. If you have young children, guardianship may not automatically pass to the person you would choose.
Who actually drafts my will?
Your answers are turned into a will by our licensed UAE legal partner, and every draft is reviewed by a person before it reaches you. The Arabic version is prepared by an MOJ-certified legal translator.
What does it cost in total?
Our fee is AED 699 for a single will or AED 1,099 for mirror wills for couples. The ADJD charges its own registration fee, currently AED 950 per will (AED 1,900 for mirror wills), which you pay directly to the court. We don't add anything on top.
Can Muslims make a will with us?
Yes. Our service is open to both Muslim and non-Muslim UAE residents. The main requirement is an Emirates ID that's valid for at least 6 more months, which we ask about before you pay.
What if something goes wrong?
You're covered by the Emirates Wills Guarantee: unlimited changes before you approve your draft, free correction if the ADJD rejects your will because of our error, a full refund if the ADJD route isn't available to you, and a full refund if you cancel before drafting starts.
Can I change my will later?
Yes. You can request changes to your draft before registration at no extra cost. After registration, a will can be updated or replaced, which requires a new registration with the court.
